Pat Ojo (7 Feb) The image is lovely, and the quotation is so true and inspirational and a testimony of our interdependence and interconnectedness. Thanks, Barbara.
Una Agnew (14 Feb) The poet Keats reminds us that the world as portrayed here is 'a Vale of soul-making'. We make our souls every time we give thanks for the earth of which we are a part. Thank you Barbara for this picture that reminds to respond to the invitation.
Una Agnew: (21 Feb) Thank you Barbara for this beautiful image and your challenging reflection. Oneness with nature is so close to our St Louis charism, ‘that all may be one’. As we continue to sense daily the energy of the rising sap in springtime in the Northern Hemisphere, we unite ourselves prayerfully with the Spirit of God pulsating through the universe and binding humanity as one family. May healing comfort and peace touch us all especially in those places throughout the world and among peoples, where discord, war, and conflict are present.
Una Agnew: (28 Feb) In Alice Walker's novel, The Color Purple, Celie says: 'I knew that if I cut a tree my arm would bleed,' We are organically linked in nature. Thank you Barbara for this image. Sint Unum
Una Agnew: (6 March) The right hemisphere of the brain wants to see the world as a whole, in all its beauty and radiance. The left hemisphere is interested in mastery, dominion and the manipulation of things. Einstein has told us that the intuitive mind that see the whole is a sacred gift and the rational mind a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant but has forgotten the gift.
Christie Kure: (13 March) Thanks for this inspired quote. Yes, a lot of things in our minds hold us back from advancing in life.
Angela Ogu: (13 March) Really beautiful, I love the nature backgrounds, aids contemplation. Thanks for the work.
Rita Akin-Otiko: (13 March) Thanks a mill for the lovely image, Sr. Barbara. To perceive the universe and its Maker as one is wholesome thinking.
Una Agnew: (13 March) So true Barbara. We need a wider lens then we can see the beauty of the trees. the lake and the green grass, not just bars blocking our vision. "a presence that disturbs me with the joy of elevated thoughts" as our poet friend W Wordsworth would say.
Rita Akin-Otiko: (13 March) Thank you for the image for this week, Sr. Barbara. It's absolutely true how powerfully limiting the perception of the mind could be. I will share it with my staff and students. Gracias!
Josephine Tiav: (16 March) Connecting with and to reality can really be refreshing and freeing like just gazing at the beautiful picture and allowing the harmony and serenity sip into your entire being. This is one practice of relishing the present moment. Thanks Barbara Relishing the beauty of the picture is refreshing and a practice of being in the present moment than being lost in one’s thoughts.
Una Agnew: (20 March) This is a wonderful picture and quotation. The pathway in the picture certainly invites exploration; there are many enticing opportunities on even a small bit of road. I'm reminded of Kavanagh who says: "It takes a lifetime to get to know one corner of a field"! I'm still finding treasure in mine.
Una Agnew: (27 March) "Give thought rest for a while, Leave comfort root room.” GM Hopkins. The image this week is frightening so I want to escape this Holy Week into thoughts of love, understanding, unity and inter connectedness,
Christie Kure: (3 April) Beautiful quotation! Very correct, I am one with the whole Universe.
Una Agnew: (17 April) Thanks Barbara. The image says it all. Amazing to think these early thinkers were familiar with ideas we might consider modern today.
Anonymous: (30 May) Love it, Barbara. Hit the spot!
Margaret Dauda: (30 May) Singing like the birds do, is praising God in totality with a pure heart. Both humans and animals are created by God, and so in one way or the other, we find ourselves turning back to God who is our creator in worship.
Margaret Dauda: (19 June) Thanks for this quote. Of course, all creatures contributes to the creation of harmonious and balanced whole, because we compliment each other or each being, having in mind that we are living on earth together.
Christie Kure: (24 July) Thank you, Barbara, for this inspired quote. May we allow the universe to see through our eyes and listen through our ears.
